Successful Completion of the ISGlobal Summer School!
The ISGlobal Summer School was a resounding success, with more than 400 students registered and participating in the week-long INTERCAMBIO-led course on Climate Change, Sustainable Work Practices, and Green Jobs, focusing on Research Methods in Occupational Health. Aimed at researchers, public health practitioners, epidemiologists, occupational health and safety experts, and policymakers, the course explored how rapidly changing work environments—driven by climate change and the adoption of sustainable practices—are impacting the mental and physical health of workers, especially in green jobs.
The course provided an introduction to occupational epidemiological research methods, with a particular emphasis on study design, exposure assessment, and key case studies from priority industries. Current debates in the field and future global occupational health research priorities were also discussed. While the course drew heavily from ongoing research conducted within the EU-funded INTERCAMBIO project, it also offered a broad, global perspective on the challenges and opportunities in this emerging field. Lectures were led by partners from the INTERCAMBIO project, ensuring a diverse range of expertise and insights.
Many thanks to all of the students and course faculty for a great week!
